National Parks of East Africa - Uganda
Ishasha Sector (Queen Elizabeth N.P.)
Ishasha (Queen Elizabeth National Park) is one of the two places in the world where lions climb into the trees (the other place is Lake Manyara in Tanzania).
The population in Ishasha consists of around 40 individuals, split across three prides. Unusual for the world and only in Ishasha, the tree climbing behavior can be observed throughout the year and the chances of seeing them climbing the trees are generally good, more then 80%.
The remote Ishasha plains in the southwest of Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of the most alluring game-viewing areas of Uganda with varied wildlife, where the lions are the star attractions.
Other wildlife includes Elephants, Buffaloes, Leopards, Hyenas, Monkeys, Warthogs, Hippos, Topis, Waterbucks and Uganda Kobs.
